With 10 games left to play in the 1964 season, the Phillies appeared to have first place locked up. A trip to the World Series seemed so certain that the Phillies printed world series tickets and an 8 page world series program. (The details of the two teams were to be inserted into the program later.)
This is an absolutely spectacular first generation, digitally restored, photo of the front cover of this program, produced from the original program. (You are not purchasing the original 8 page program.) Notice that the flag of the American League team is blank -- it was to be inked in later when the American League race was decided.
