Phillies 1964 World Series Program Front And Back Cover

Click Picture for a larger image

With 10 games left to play in the 1964 season, the Phillies appeared to have first place locked up.  A trip to the World Series seemed so certain that the Phillies printed world series tickets and an 8 page world series program.  (The details of the two teams were to be inserted into the program later.)

This is an absolutely spectacular first generation, digitally restored, photo of the front and back covers of this program, produced from the original program.   (You are not purchasing the original 8 page program.)

This photo measures approximately 11 x 17.5 inches and is suitable for matting.  The front and back covers have been stitched together to appear in the same photo, next to each other.

On the front cover, notice that the flag of the American League team is blank -- it was to be inked in later when the American League race was decided.

On the back cover, the Ballantine Beer ad says, "Congratulations to the Phillies on winning the Pennant.....from your radio and TV sponsors, Ballantine beer.  Now, let's go get that series!"

Laughable, isn't it?

Buy this spectacular photo and most interesting momento of the world series that never was.
