Shibe Park, From Behind Home Plate, Sept 1, 1963

The year was 1963 and all-time-great Stan Musial was preparing to retire. His Cardinals came to Philadelphia to battle the hapless Phillies ... and Alan and Phil Luber were there, to capture the most spectacular color photograph of Shibe Park / Connie Mack Stadium in existence ...

Shibe Park, Panoramic shot from Sept 1, 1963

True baseball fans love panoramic views of ballparks -- especially vintage stadiums like Shibe Park / Connie Mack Stadium. This beautiful panoramic masterpiece was created by digitally combining two different photos taken from the same vantage point ...

Shibe Park, Wes Covington smashes a homerun, Sept. 1, 1963

The date is September 1, 1963, less than three months before our innocence will be shattered forever by the assassination of President Kennedy.  But for now, and for a while longer, all is well with the world.

Shibe Park, Sept. 1, 1963, Set of Three Photos

This is a set of three color photos from the Luber Collection of Shibe Park Photos, available in 4 x6 or 5 x 7 sizes

Shibe Park 1913 Exterior

This is an outstanding, sharp, glossy digitally restored  photo of the main entrance to Shibe Park taken in 1913, a few years after the ball park opened.

Shibe Park, 1974 Exterior

This is an outstanding, sharp, glossy digitally restored photo of the main entrance to Connie Mack Stadium / Shibe Park.

The photo was taken shortly before the stadium fell to the wrecking ball.  The photo shows incredible detail.

Shibe Park, Outside the stadium early 1950's

This is an excellent, glossy digitally restored 8 x 10 picture of the crowd outside Shibe Park at 21st and Lehigh Ave. in 1953.

Shibe Park, 1950s black-and-white photo

A day game from the 1950s. Let's let Alan Luber describe his experience with this shot:

I spent an eyeball-straining week restoring the original photo digitally to remove blemishes, scratches, dirt, and creases. It was a difficult job, but the results are absolutely stunning....

Shibe Park and Baker Bowl, Aerial View, 1929

This is a gorgeous, crisp aerial view of both Shibe Park and Baker Bowl, taken in 1929.

Phillies 1964 World Series Program Front Cover

With 10 games left to play in the 1964 season, the Phillies appeared to have first place locked up.  A trip to the World Series seemed so certain that the Phillies printed world series tickets and an 8 page world series program.  (The details of the two teams were to be inserted into the program later.)

This is an absolutely spectacular first generation, digitally restored, photo of the front cover of this program, produced from the original program.

Phillies 1964 World Series Program Front And Back Cover

With 10 games left to play in the 1964 season, the Phillies appeared to have first place locked up.  A trip to the World Series seemed so certain that the Phillies printed world series tickets and an 8 page world series program.  (The details of the two teams were to be inserted into the program later.)

This is an absolutely spectacular first generation, digitally restored, photo of the front cover of this program, produced from the original program.
